Both companies have taken gaming to a next level. Sony have introduced Play station 4 while Microsoft have introduced Xbox one.
HARDWARE :
Sony has not introduced outlook of console but they made a real change in controller.
Microsoft's Xbox one looks like a rectangular box with small curve on the bottom.They have made more space for exhaust and made a little change in controller.
SOFTWARE:

Sony have given a new name to their controller " Dual shock 4". It consists a touch-pad to add a new way to interact with game. It has also a dedicated Share button. It also have a speaker and a headset jack into controller.

Xbox's controller is almost the same as before, as now the reactions will be more smoother, faster and even more immerse. Its a little bigger than before and the Xbox logo in now on top.
OVERVIEW:
Both of them will be available in market this Summer. Fans are really exited to see these consoles in action. It looks like Sony have comeback with hope of revenge. But Microsoft being smart, was ready for the attack and replied to Sony in the form of Xbox one.
Lets wait till summer and then see which will rule over the other, or both will be same as Xbox 360 and PS3. It seems like they have really made changes and i think both will support real life 3-D views. With specifications, PS4 seems to be a little more powerful. But Xbox is not as far behind PS4.
